This site indexes sixteen existing hotels across four formats: art hotels, capsule hotels, casino hotels and ice hotels. It is editorial. Nothing is sponsored, nothing is ranked, and no property has been given a preview of what is written about it.
What we do
We read widely about each property — its own material, architectural and trade press, reporting, and the accumulated account of people who have stayed — and then describe it in plain prose. Where sources disagree on a detail, or where a fact would need a citation to be worth printing, we describe the character of the thing instead of inventing precision.
What we deliberately avoid
No prices, because they change weekly and vary by market. No star ratings or scores, because a format that delights one traveller defeats another. No reviews written in a voice that pretends to have stayed. No booking function, no affiliate links, and no advertising inside the entries.
Geography
The index is not written from any one country's point of view. The properties happen to sit across Europe, Asia and North America, and are grouped by what kind of hotel they are rather than by where a reader might be sitting.
Corrections
Hotels close wings, change owners, rebuild and occasionally disappear. If something here is wrong or out of date, we would rather know. The contact page explains how to reach us.
